Continuous Professional Development is primarily about developing players within your club. Improving their ability and creating a continuous flow of quality players for your manager to choose from for squad rotation, in times of injury, fatigue or when you sell a player at a premium. Managers such as Owen Coyle, Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp use CPD because the teams they manage have improved. In brief CPD measures the squads various levels of ability, the players skills and competencies. A plan is then introduced which will improve each players ability. After a given period the team will have more skills, competencies and ability and become the benchmark of the competition, the best team in the division.
